Inspiration

All creativity starts with an event, an experience. For me very clear: at high school a thesis on cubism. About Picasso and his “Les Demoiselles d’ Avignon”. A painting seen as the start of “Cubism”. Faces, shapes, reduced to abstract, African mask style expressions.

I have seen almost all his paintings, in various museums, from Antibes to Barcelona, from Paris to New York.

My first painting was a “copy” inspired by cubism and colors of that era.  But  left it at “that”, created my own style.

Some sculptures were made too. One in marble, one in clay (inspired on African masks) and granite. I have added one picture of my father who inspired me to simply “paint without formats or guidelines”. Also one of his paintings is shown.
